Sequined Leggings + Outfit Details

It is safe to say that I hate Valentine's day... But red is my color so obviously a shoot was required.

I feel like listening to me talk about fashion recommendations for Valentine's Day is like asking me for relationship advice (ha-ha). BUT I promise I know more about fashion than relationships.

Red is just a staple color for the month of February. I scored big time on this Cynthia Rowley sweater at T.J. Maxx. I love how true the red color is. Sometimes red can lean more towards the pinkish side, or the maroon side, but this sweater is just straight up red- Perfect for Vday!

Let's talk about the elephant in the pictures here. How about these sequined leggings?! I've never felt more like a diva in my entire life. I freaking love these leggings. I feel like Valentine's Day is one of the few days of the year where wearing excessive sequins is totally acceptable. I found these particular ones at Target on clearance so they aren't available online anymore- but I've linked some other options here & here!

I paired this outfit with, yep, you guessed it, these obviously loved Nine West black heels.

So this Valentine's Day be a pair of sequined leggings in a world of jeans ;)

Thanks for stopping by! See ya next time!

Bachelor Monday + Outfit Details

It's Bachelor Monday!

My favorite show hands down is the Bachelor. Lots of girls fighting for one hot guy... What more could you ask for?! For this photoshoot I bought myself roses and forced my photographer (aka best friend) to meet me at "our spot". I felt that with it being almost Valentine's Day and Bachelor Monday, this was the perfect time to showcase my love for fur considering this outfit would totally qualify for "date night material"

I think it is pretty obvious that black has been the main color in my wardrobe so far this winter. Honestly though, I have been a huge fan of black clothing since the day I heard black is a slimming color!  I just adore the classic, sophisticated look and feel of wearing all black. Throw on some black skinny jeans and a black shirt and you look so put together, yet not too overachiever-ish. (AND black looks really good with red roses)

Who doesn't love a good fur vest? I've been addicted to wearing all black lately, but sometimes the all black can be a little overpowering. This fur vest is perfect for dividing up all the darkness. I bought mine from the kid's section at Old Navy, but these vests are EVERYWHERE right now (and probably on sale!)

Another trend that I am really trying to get into is the hat trend. I'm trying y'all! I love this black one by ASOS. I've linked my hat here!

I just paired a simple pair of Nine West black pointed toe heels to add to the classic look of this outfit.

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you enjoyed, see ya next time!

Wear Pink and Make the Boys Wink + Outfit Details

"Wear Pink and Make the Boys Wink" - Lilly Pulitzer

I'm all about adding a pop of pink to any outfit, who's with me?! There's just something about the bright, yet soft color that can add the most beautiful, feminine touch to any outfit.

One of my favorite things to do has always been layering button downs and oversized sweaters. I love the polished, chic look mixed with the slouchy, oversized feel. This oversized Gap sweater is perfect for layering and SO comfy! My sweater is linked here!

A hot pink button down is something that all girls can own- hello classic versatility! If that is not a thing, I just made it one. You can wear this type of shirt with anything- I'm not kidding. Shorts, skirts, pants, under dresses, you name it! You will not regret buying a classic button down shirt. Trust me.

So let's talk about these shoes. Jeans with heels might send thoughts of 80's parties through your head. I get it! But I have recently fallen in love with casual, yet super fun look. These nude heels are linked here. (the nude color is sold out, but I love the other colors!)

Black is the new Pink + Outfit Details

Oh the great month of February. For all you crazy lovers out there this month is a big party... As for us singles, well, ice cream and netflix is on the agenda (even more than usual).

I thought it would be fitting to feature this all black outfit for my first post of the month because black is the new pink right? Sure. But come on, how amazing is this outfit?! I feel like this would be such a great outfit to wear on the town one night. It contains the perfect amount of sass while screaming, "I promise I have my life together" (even when you really really don't).

Let's get this out of the way, turtlenecks are not out of style. They are classic and timeless and a nice black one will give you all the power to do whatever you set your mind to (think Steve Jobs). Seriously though, when I put on this oversized turtleneck, my inner sass kicks in real fast.

We've talked about black skinny jeans before- total confidence booster. Add some black pointed toe stilettos and that results in confidence overload. I think I strutted through downtown Owensboro in these jeans harder than I've strutted anywhere... No shame.

So let's talk about the shoes. Some may say that heels should only be taken out of the closet for special occasions (I can hear the girls I went to high school with whispering about it now). But in my opinion the only difference in heels and flats is a few inches and a whole lot of hotness. If you spend good money on a nice pair of heels, wear them all the time. RT.

The best part about these exact heels linked here is that they are not too tall, and they are very practical.

Sometimes all a girl needs is an outfit that makes her feel like she can conquer the world. I think I have finally found mine.
Thank you so much for stopping by! I'll see you next time!

Spring Dreaming + Outfit Details

As the snow is melting (hopefully), I can't help but wish for spring weather!

There is something about spring clothing that I love. The bright colors are my favorite! Although it is still way too cold to wear actual Spring clothes, there are ways to brighten up an outfit when the temps are still below 30. My favorite way to do so is with accessories. What better way to stay warm and make a bright statement than with a blanket scarf?! I purchased this blanket scarf from Target and I can't stop wearing it! I love the pop of bright pink in it! I've linked this exact scarf here!

Oversized sweaters are probably the top essential for a winter wardrobe. Not only do they provide that slouchy-chic look, they are also SO comfy! I honestly live in mine whether I am just lounging around for the day or if I'm going out. I promise, an oversized sweater will be the most practical piece you ever invest in.

Booties are perfect for giving a slouchy outfit a more put-together look. I could have worn knee-high boots or even a cute pair of flats with this outfit and it would have worked fine. I just love the look of these simple, chic booties combined with the oversized, comfy look of this whole outfit. I also love how the caramel color in these booties bring out the warm colors in the scarf. I would have to say, the shoes truly do make this outfit work well. My exact pair are from last year's collection at Old Navy, but I have linked a similar pair here!

Thank you so much for stopping by! See ya next time!

Ski Sweater Weather + Outfit Details

Well, the snow has officially arrived here in Kentucky, and I don't think the grass will be making an appearance for a while by the looks of the forecast!

But, if the snow gives me an excuse to wear my favorite sweater, I guess I'll take it! Can we all take a wild guess where this amazing sweater is from? You guessed it, J.Crew. I just can't help myself when it comes to their super soft, SUPER warm sweaters. If buying J.Crew out of their sweaters is wrong, I don't want to be right. This ski sweater is the first thing I reach for on snowy days when I have to leave my bed. It is enough to make me feel put together, yet it is still simple.

*my exact sweater is sold out, but I've linked this year's version here. I might love it even more!

Now, if you know me well enough, you should know that I'm very much into vests. If I can wear one, I will. ESPECIALLY when it is below 30 degrees out! This one I received for Christmas and I kid you not, it is like wearing a down comforter. This Ralph Lauren quilted vest is not only gorgeous with the gold detailing, but it is SO warm!

I've discussed my love for black skinny jeans before- hello confidence booster! But sometimes good ol' leggings will do the trick. Especially these super thick ones from Victoria's Secret. Good leggings are hard to find, but I have found that these from VS not only are thick enough, but they seem to "hold me in"in all the right places... If ya know what I mean! I've linked my pair here.

Okay, now for the star(s) of the show! My gorgeous Hunter boots! Ahhhhh, I just love them. I can't help it. These are my first pair and I am literally in love. I decided to go with black. Black goes with pretty much anything and they just seemed super practical for me. I mean come on, who doesn't need cute boots to trudge through the snow? I know I do! These are the tall ones and they hit me perfectly below the knee! Go buy you some here before the next snow!

Thanks for stopping by! I'll see you next time!

Baby it's Even Colder Outside + Outfit Details

It's cold, y'all. Here in Kentucky it really does not get unbearably cold until mid January and let me tell ya, the bitter cold stage is in full swing! Snow is on the horizon and now that I am in college, the thought of trudging through the snow is almost enough to make me cry. Needless to say, I could do without the white fluffy stuff this time around.

But, if it does have to be super cold, you better believe I am going to embrace it when it comes to my wardrobe! Anyone else obsessed with the fair isle sweater comeback? Most may look at this sweater and have thoughts of their grandparents or family photos from the 70s, but I absolutely love the timeless look and feel of these classic sweaters!

The one that I am wearing is of course, from J.Crew. In my opinion, J.Crew has the ability to mix tacky and classic and turn it into perfection. I love the navy, mint, and gray detailing in this sweater. The colors combine and seem to align perfectly with the frigid temps outside!

p.s. This sweater is now on sale PLUS you can get 30% off AND free shipping now! I've linked it here.

I paired this sweater with a navy quilted vest. The solid vest has a way of toning down the pattern in the sweater so it is not so in-your-face. Old Navy gets me every year with their vests. This one is from last year, but I have linked one that is basically identical from J.Crew here!

Skinny jeans and bean boots go together like coffee and cream. American Eagle never fails when it comes to jeans that fit me perfectly. I have linked this exact pair here! My bean boots are one of my most prized possessions. I got mine for Christmas last year and I wear them ALL THE TIME. In my opinion, they are more than worth the investment! I've linked my pair here.

Thank you all for reading today! I hope you enjoyed! See ya soon!
